Gateway Program
The Gateway Project provides public library service to Central Arkansas residents without charging a non-resident fee to patrons outside a library's service area.
The program was initiated in 1995 as a succesful LSDA Development grant for library patrons in Arkansas, Pulaski, Perry, Clark, Cleburne, Conway, Faulkner, Van Buren, Garland, Jackson, Lonoke, Prairie, Cleveland, Dallas, Grant, Hot Spring, Montgomery, Pike, Jefferson, Pope, Saline, Bradley, Drew, Chicot, Desha, Lincoln, and White.
Library patrons who are Gateway cardholders have reciprocal borrowing privileges at any of the participating libraries. They have access to a 1.5 million volume collection at no cost.
